Tom Willis is Of Counsel in the Florida office and handles a wide range of insurance defense matters with a strong focus on medical and nursing home malpractice. Mr. Willis joined BPN after working with a large national insurance defense firm, consistently obtaining successful outcomes for insurance carriers in nursing home, premises liability, and catastrophic trucking cases based out of its Louisville, Kentucky office.
In addition to his insurance defense experience, Mr. Willis was the founder of his law practice in Doral, Florida. His firm represented clients in a full range of complex commercial issues, including breach of contract, licensing, M&A disputes, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and real estate litigation. He also served as General Counsel for a Brazilian fintech company based in Boca Raton, Florida.
Mr. Willis received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 1994 and his Bachelor of Arts in 1991 from Louisiana State University. He is licensed to practice law in Florida and Kentucky and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Willis is completely fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese and is highly comfortable dealing with international clients and foreign legal issues.
