Dawn Bristol is an accomplished trial attorney, who has specialized in medical malpractice defense litigation for over 20 years. She attended Hunter College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Furthering her studies, Ms. Bristol attended Columbia Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor in 1993.
Upon completing law school, Ms. Bristol started her career as a trial lawyer at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. As an Assistant District Attorney, she investigated thousands of criminal cases, presented hundreds of cases to the New York State Grand Jury, and successfully obtained jury verdicts on behalf of the People of the State of New York.
In 1998, Ms. Bristol began her practice of civil litigation. With a focus on medical malpractice, she has handled cases through all phases of litigation, from inception through trial. In her years of practice, Ms. Bristol has tried numerous cases to verdict, and has obtained favorable outcomes in a variety of cases.
In addition to her extensive litigation background, Ms. Bristol brings her experience in risk management to the firm. As a Manager Claims Counsel in the Risk Management Department of one of New York State’s largest health care systems, Ms. Bristol was responsible for supervising a team of attorneys, overseeing defense counsel in handling all aspects of assigned claims, and collaborating with hospital leadership on potential claim, risk management and quality assurance issues. She also regularly lectured at hospitals on medical malpractice litigation and risk management issues.
Outside of work, Ms. Bristol enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter.
