Gary W. Patterson, Jr. is a founding member of the firm and an accomplished trial attorney with a proven track record of success in some of the most difficult defense venues in the country. He has devoted his career to defending clients in high exposure matters from commencement through trial from Long Island to Upstate New York and New Jersey. For more than two decades, Mr. Patterson has represented major hospital systems, individual physicians, oral surgeons, dentists, nursing homes and various health care professionals. Gary has obtained defense verdicts in both New York and New Jersey. He has had remarkable success in securing directed verdicts, saving his clients the cost of a prolonged trial and protecting them from the risks associated with jury deliberation. Mr. Patterson has also lectured before several of the firm’s hospital clients and at national conferences on the topics of risk management, quality assurance, developments in medical malpractice law and trial strategies.
Gary was raised in Bennington, Vermont, and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University in 1994. Thereafter, he earned a master’s degree in public administration from the same institution in 1996, followed by a juris doctorate from New York Law School in 1999. Mr. Patterson served as an editor on the New York Law School Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Mr. Patterson is a Managing Partner of the firm and is based in the Mahwah, New Jersey office. He resides in Orange County, New York, with his wife and three children. Mr. Patterson is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
